Dai Gokujo Ibuki Moxa

Only the highest-quality mugwort is used for the preparation, and the plant fibers for the moxa are isolated and refined. High-quality moxa has the color of pure gold and a fine hue. A slightly blue or white hue indicates a material that has recently been manufactured, while a slightly reddish hue indicates an older material. The effect of the mosxibustion does depend on the age of the moxa, but it is thought that older materials tend to produce a somewhat softer heat sensation and are less likely to cause blister.
