YNSA is a completely new concept developed around 1970 in Japan. The word "NEW" was added to its name so it would not be confused with Chinese scalp acupuncture.
The location of YNSA is quite different from that of Chinese scalp acupuncture. YNSA should be classified as a somatic representation or microsystem comparable to other well-known mircrsystems, such as ear, mouth, nose, hand or foot acupuncture.
