The centre of the cup incorporates a 2500 gauss magnetic probe and a pointer. When the cup is applied to and over an acupuncture point, the pointer stimulates the acupoint and gives an effect similar to acupuncture needling. The magnet is not polarized.
Due to the cup-size, it is recommended to apply a small amount of gel or wax evenly over the site which is to be cupped-over. Squeeze the rubber bulb, place the pointer (centre of the cup) over an acupoint (if you intend to stimulate the acupoint), release the bulb. The cup should cup-over the site. If the suction is either too loose or too tight, squeeze the bulb again to release the suction and remove the cup. Squeeze the bulb again with either harder or lighter force to adjust the firmness of suction.
The cupping set is packed in a deluxe traditional Chinese silk box and comes with 2 jars of gel and 7 cups.
